Cpt. Jack Sparrow's Pirates' Code of the Wicked Wench
I – Every man has a vote in affairs of moment; has equal title to the fresh provision, or strong liquors, at any time seized, and may use them at pleasure, unless a scarcity makes it necessary, for the good of all, to vote a retrenchment.
II – The light and candles are to be put out at eight o’clock at night: if any of the crew, after that hour still remain inclined for drinking, they are to do it on the open deck.
III – All men must keep their piece and arms clean and fit for service and must mind their station or risk losing their share and facing any punishment as the captain and the company think fit.
IV – No striking on another on board, but every man’s quarrels to be ended at duel to be administered by the quartermaster where the victor will draw first blood.
V – If any man shall offer to run away, or keep any secret from the company, he shall be marooned with one bottle of powder, one bottle of water, and one small arm.
VI – If any man shall lose a joint in time of an engagement, shall have 400 silver; if a limb, 800.
VII – If any gold jewels, silver etc. be found on board of any prize or prizes to the value of one gold are delivered to the quarter master in the space of 24 hours he shall suffer what punishment the captain and the majority of the company shall think fit.
VIII – That no man shall go on shore till the ship is off the ground and in readiness to put to sea.
IX – The fund of all payments under the articles is the stock of what is gotten by the expedition, following the same law as other pirates, that is, no prey, no pay.
X – Compensation is publicly provided to the captain for his ship, the carpenter for his efforts and repairs, and the doctor for medicinal costs,as well as a sum for provisions and victuals. Each of these will be paid for to their respectives upon making port.
XI – The captain is to have 3 full shares; 2 shares to the main gunner, quartermaster, carpenter, and doctor; one and one half shares to other prominent crewmen; one share to able bodied seamen; and one half share to the cabin boy.
